Leaflet for school attendance of DSKL (as to date September 2005)
DSKL will admit students who have the following documents
a) Authorisation letter from the Department of Immigration Malaysia or authorisation letter from the Department of Education of Malaysia. Parents need to go through their respective companies to secure this letter.
b) Students need to have a valid student pass (resident permit for students)
c) Students also need to have a dependant pass. This will be issued upon showing a confirmation letter from the DSKL that your child has been enrolled. The Malaysian authorities will stamp your student pass and dependent pass.
Details for the various authorisations are given below.
1. Student pass
- Can only be applied for at the Immigration Office in Shah Alam

- generally is issued for one school year
- in order to get the authorisation extended the school report must be translated into Bahasa Malay and shown at the Immigration Office
- a confirmation letter from the DSKL is needed for the first application as well as for the extension of the pass. In order to issue this confirmation letter the DSKL will need the valid passport number of the student.
2. Dependant pass + additional stamp
- can be applied for at the same office as the work permit for the father/mother eg. Damansara HQ

- first you apply for a dependant pass for the student
- as soon as the dependant pass has been stamped into the passport you can then apply for the additional stamp by presenting the confirmation letter of the DSKL (see above) and a form. This stamp is an authorisation to attend the school, this is free and has the same period of validity as the residence permit of the father/mother.
3. Student with a Malaysian passport
- before the student is admitted to the DSKL the school applies for the authorisation for the student to attend school at the Education Department – Damansara. This happens in agreement with the students` parents. In general the permit is given after 4 – 8 weeks.
- Students having a Malaysian passport will receive the permit if the following conditions are fulfilled:
1. one parent is not a Malaysian resident 2. the student has spent more than 3 years abroad and studies at a German school.
Students whose parents work in an embassy will get an exemption. In this case no other permit have to be applied for.
After receiving the permit, please hand a copy to the secretary of the DSKL where it will be stored in the students`file.
