German International Abitur (DIAP)
DSKL will offer an 11th grade class in the school year 2007/08 and will carry out the Abitur exam for the first time in the school year 2008/09. We belong world wide to the first schools amongst the German Schools abroad with this offer.
Recognition: The German International Abitur (DIAP) will be recognized at all international and German universities as the German Abitur.
Organization: The 10th grade counts as introductory course (Einführungsphase) of the “gymnasiale Oberstufe” (for the first time in the school year 2006/07). The qualification stage contains the 11th grade (from 2007/08) and 12th grade (from 2008/09).
Abitur mark: The mark will be composed from the achievements in the following blocks: a) Results in the qualification phase in the subjects which are part of the written exam b) Results in the qualification stage in the other subjects c) Results in the final exam.
Final Exam: The exam is taken part in three written exam subjects, of which German is compulsory and two other oral examinations
Subjects/Time table: See the enclosed time table. In the first round art, chemistry wll not be offered. With the an increased number of students there be more options available.
Teaching Languages: In the Oberstufe of the DSKL physics will be taught in English, Biology and History are bilingual subjects.
Syllabus: The lessons are conducting according to the syllabus laid down by the German schools in asia.
Entry qualifications: All Gymnasialstudents acquire the right to enter the Gymnasiale Oberstufe with the passing of grade 10. Until the DIAP exam is conducted for the first time the students will have to undergo the exam of grade 10. Realschul-students are under certain conditions allowed to repeat class 10 as Gymnasial-students. The have to take part in the intensive French course, which is especially designed for students who start their second foreign language in grade 10.
