Fourth Parent Letter in the School Year 2008/08 (translated by Grade 11)
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Parents,
I hope you all have enjoyed your holidays but still do not regret to be back to the usual school rhythm.
The weekend before the holidays was very efficient for me as far as it concerned the preparations for our school inspection, which will be held by the end of October 2009, by the Zentralstelle fuer Auslandschulwesen.
We are sure to receive superior grades concerning our new outdoor installations such as playground and school field and our technical equipment.
Our school's “pedagogic quality management” doesn’t have to hide either.
A father remarked that traffic rules should be observed while bringing and picking up the students. Cars should either be parked in the lay-by on the left side of the road, or better in the car park in front of the sport field, but never in the right lane or in the second row (double parking).
This advice is supported by the school management, since we also consider the current practice as dangerous. Please inform your drivers if applicable.
Our administration is often asked if there is a possibility for students who aren’t registered to take the buses at 3.30 pm.
Unfortunately, this isn’t possible at the moment because our buses are all full.
There still is the possibility for students to take the buses that leave the school at 1:30pm. In this case, we kindly ask you to buy a ticket at the school's reception desk.
The annual member's meeting of the German Schulverein Malaysia (DSM) is taking place on Monday the 20th October 2008 at 7:30 pm in the theatre room.
Major agenda item is going to be the election of new members for the board of directors, because sadly some of our long time members are saying goodbye. In the name of our colleagues I thank each of these members for their support, which has brought our school ahead in many ways.
Some parents approached me, asking to organise another course to learn the Malay language. If there will be roughly 10 registrations, it will be no problem to organise such a course. Please call Mrs. Donikian if you are interested.
On Tuesday October 14, during the 5th lesson, there will be a plenary meeting in the theatre room for the students from class 5 to 12..
During this meeting the candidates for the position of student representatives will introduce themselves. The following Thursday the student representatives will be elected.
On Friday the 17th October the Indian Temple from across the street will be celebrating their 300th anniversary and since many guests are expected, there will be no classes or kindergarten on that day. I wish all of you a very relaxing extended weekend.
Best Regards Dr. Munzinger, headmaster
